2. Exfoliation 

This is not a part of the daily face routine as exfoliators should only be used a maximum of 2 - 3 times a week. But it is still important to add here that there are many benefits to exfoliating the skin. It removes the dead skin cells and prepares the skin. It allows the products applied next to be absorbed better.

There are two kinds of exfoliators: physical exfoliators and chemical exfoliators. Physical exfoliators can be harsh on the skin as they physically rub the dead skin off and cause damage. Hence, they should not be used as part of the daily skincare routine at home.

Chemical peels have acids such as AHA, BHA, salicylic acid, or lactic acid as their main ingredient. These chemical exfoliants should not be part of your morning face routine as they cause skin sensitivity when exposed to the sun.

3. Toners

This is the next step after using the cleanser in your daily face routine. Even though toners are not a must-have product for healthy skin, they have many benefits, such as balancing pH, tightening pores, restoring hydration, and preventing breakouts. Some have vitamin E, which is an oil and a vitamin for good skin. All these and many more perks make toner an essential part of the morning face routine and an evening one.

4. Serums

This step is a part of the everyday skincare routine where specific problems are addressed. Serums contain active ingredients that target a specific concern or a problem and maintain healthy skin. Some serums have multiple elements that cover more than one problem and should be part of everyone’s morning skincare as well as night skincare routine.

Conditions such as acne, pigmentation, dryness, oiliness, sun damage, etc., are treated by serums. They also provide deep hydration, improve skin elasticity, firm up the skin, and provide nourishment. In addition to active ingredients, they have minerals and vitamins for good skin.

7. Facial Oils

Facial oils have quickly gained popularity because of their versatility. They have become an integral part of a daily face routine in recent years. 8. Sunscreen

Sunscreen is inarguably an essential part of the daily face routine, especially when going out in the sun. Even if all the above steps are neglected, not applying sunscreen over the exposed parts of the skin is detrimental. It should be the central part of the morning skincare routine. Using sunscreen with higher SPF, such as Avene, protects the skin from a wide range of UV rays. Studies have shown that applying sunscreen every 2-3 hours as part of morning skincare provides maximum coverage.
